This side event at the 25th Session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues is organized by UNESCO. Over the next decade, 1.2 billion young people in developing economies will reach working age, but current projections indicate only 400 million jobs will be created, leaving an 800-million-job gap. This Side Event will explore Indigenous-led economies in tourism, pastoralism and ecosystems services as potential pathways for dignified job creation while securing the cultures, spaces and traditional knowledge upon which they are founded.
