International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples

This side event at the 25th Session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues is organized by UNESCO. It will provide a space for dialogue among Indigenous representatives, Member States, scientific experts and UN partners. It will inform the update of the UNESCO Policy on Engaging with Indigenous Peoples and will highlight concrete actions and partnerships. The discussion will focus on practical entry points for co-creation, accountability, and sustained partnership across UNESCO's sciences, education, culture and communication programmes, ensuring that contributions gathered during the Forum directly inform the Policy framework.
